Tanzania is known for being one of the most beautiful and most peaceful countries in East Africa. Tanzania is the cradle of humanity and the first fossils of the hominid, the famous Lucy, were found in the Oldwai Gorge in Tanzania.
The interior of Tanzania is famous for its large natural parks, the kingdom of lions and elephants.
Tanzania is also famous for its wonderful coast, of which Zanzibar is certainly the most famous island.
But along the southern coast of Tanzania is an almost unknown yet beautiful pearl, Mafia Island.
Mafia is a green island where a few small communities of fishermen and farmers live, in total balance with Nature.
Its coasts are surrounded by beautiful coral reefs where thousands of species of fish find refuge.
Mafia Island is my island, and I want to take you to discover.

I am Ally Mtali and I am a guide. I live all year on Mafia Island, I know this land in all seasons of the year and I know that every season has its wonders.
Mafia Island is above all Scuba diving and snorkeling: I will advise you on the best diving, the best guides, we will go out with boats built in wood according to the most ancient traditions and we will discover the wonders of Chole Bay.
But Mafia Island is not only underwater: we will discover the ancient traditions of fishermen, the peasant communities of the island of Chole, the fish market, the archaeological remains of the ancient Arab rulers. We will discover a wild and amazing nature, the hippo lake, the flying foxes that feed on fruit, the grand whale shark swimming in the canals. We will visit the small farming villages and the great Mafia lighthouse.
